Centrad Launches New 360° Panoramic Driver Assistance System

360 Panoramic Driver Assistance System

Centrad, a UK provider of video-led fleet safety and telematics solutions, has announced the launch of its 360° Panoramic Intelligent Driver Assistance System – an intelligent four-camera monitoring solution designed to eliminate blind spots, reduce incident rates, and lower the cost of claims for commercial fleet operators.

The system, dubbed Centrad 360, provides LCV drivers with a complete, real-time surround view, addressing one of the most persistent and costly challenges in commercial vehicle operation.

Developed to deliver complete situational awareness, Centrad 360 enables drivers to manoeuvre with greater confidence and safety, while supporting fleet operators in reducing collisions, minimising vehicle downtime, and avoiding the reputational and financial impact of road incidents.

Blind Spots Continue to Challenge Fleet Safety

Blind spots remain one of the most common causes of low-speed collisions in commercial fleets, particularly during manoeuvres in urban environments where visibility is restricted and vulnerable road users are at greater risk.

While mirrors and conventional camera systems provide some assistance, they still require drivers to continuously switch their attention between multiple viewpoints. In practice, this creates moments where hazards can be missed. Research shows that in the time it takes for a driver to check multiple mirrors, assess a situation and react, a vehicle travelling at low speed can still move several metres — more than enough distance for a collision to occur.

Commercial vehicles can most notably present a heightened risk to vulnerable road users, particularly in busy urban environments where interactions with cyclists and pedestrians are more frequent.

A significant number of incidents occur during low-speed manoeuvres such as turning at junctions, reversing, or navigating tight urban environments, where blind spots are most critical and driver visibility is severely restricted.

Why Traditional Visibility Systems Aren't Enough

Centrad 360 addresses these challenges through a network of four high-definition cameras strategically positioned on the vehicle: one mounted on the front, one at the rear, and two integrated into the exterior mirrors.

Together, these cameras create a seamless 360° bird’s-eye view presented within a single image, giving drivers a complete, real-time perspective of their surroundings without needing to mentally piece together multiple feeds.

How Centrad 360 Delivers Complete Situational Awareness

The system offers both 360° and 180° split-view displays that provide enhanced visibility for longer and taller vehicle types and features durable, weatherproof cameras and an in-cab display designed for quick, distraction-free viewing during complex driving situations.

Helping Fleets Reduce Risk and Control Costs

Commenting on the launch, Geoff Cross, Managing Director of Centrad, said: “Anyone who drives a commercial vehicle knows just how difficult it can be to keep track of everything happening around you, especially in busy urban environments where cyclists and pedestrians are often close by.

“With more customers prioritising safety and fleet operators under increasing pressure to reduce incidents and control costs, Centrad 360 gives drivers that extra level of awareness when it matters most.

“By providing a clear, real-time view around the vehicle, we’re helping operators take a proactive approach to reducing collisions, lowering claims, and protecting both their drivers and other road users — while ultimately improving the efficiency and profitability of their fleet operations.”

Centrad 360 is now available to fleet operators across the UK, offering a powerful new tool to improve visibility, reduce accidents, and deliver measurable cost savings across commercial vehicle fleets.
