Centrad adds onboard temperate check and passenger counter to its camera systems
Vehicle CCTV supplier Centrad has launched a thermal temperature detection system to help bus and coach operators get back on the road to recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The device can be seamlessly integrated with Centrad’s 8 and 12 camera systems to provide monitoring and reporting of passengers temperatures or it can be used in isolation to simply monitor the health of passengers. On entering the vehicle, the temperature sensor will read each passengers temperature and in the event that a temperature reading is above 38®C, an audible alarm will sound to alert the driver. An automated alert can also be sent to management or head office with a snapshot of the passenger.
An intelligent camera that automatically records boarding and alighting data has also been introduced including real time reporting along with a driver alert function should the vehicle go over an approved capacity.
Geoff Cross, Managing Director of Centrad said “Bus and Coach operators are having to implement a host of measures to get their fleets back on the road in line with the latest government guidance on COVID-19. Our thermal temperature monitoring system and connected camera systems are helping operators to avoid the risk of spreading the infection to other passengers and drivers, provide reassurance to their customers and ultimately get back to work sooner.”
